Amazing day!

Cannot believe we cut almost 24 hours off our labor time!

We came in at 9p last night, were given two hormone pills before 7am. Then, pitocin started at 7a with my water breaking at 8:30 and epidural given at 10a. Fully dilated by 3pm, four pushes and she was born at 3:31pm.

We had a bit of a scare when baby girl refused to breathe for close to 3.5 minutes post birth... After 15 seconds the nurse alerted the NICU there was a problem and within 10 seconds five people arrived and began working on her. Now forever known as the scariest 3.5 minutes of my life, baby girl took some time to wake up. Could have been the speed of the delivery or that she just wasn't ready; fortunately by 5 minutes her Apgar score went from a 1 to a 9. Doctors say that her turnaround is excellent and we should see no future effects of what happened.

The nurses and doctors here at CPMC have been truly amazing.

Baby girl is measuring 20" and weighs 8lb, 4oz!! She has dark blonde hair.

Everyone is happy, healthy - Chris and I are feeling very grateful.

Can't wait to introduce her to Kiki and Calum tomorrow! Haven't decided on a name yet...
