Progress!

It's been great having Grandma Leckie here this week helping out. We've made some huge progress--physically, mentally and emotionally :). We've also picked out a paint color for the kitchen and bathroom and identified a new couch that would fit perfectly in our kitchen nook off the deck overlooking the Bay. Fun!

So far this week:
- I've improved how we're going about feeding.
- I've learned Calum likes being in the nude, airing out his behind, and peeing on me when we're changing his diaper. Being peed on at least twice in a day isn't out of the ordinary for us.
- Calum is a lot more responsive--to faces, touch and music. He seems to like the jungle sounds and classical music on his Pack n' Play best, and we've been using that along with his swing to calm him when necessary.
- Calum has graduated from newborn to stage 1 diapers! At his weigh-in Monday, we learned he is 8lbs 2 oz!!! Previously 7lbs 2oz seven days prior, the Dr. said that gaining an ounce a day is the high end of weight gain, and Calum exceeded 2 ounces per day! Chris calculates that at this rate, he'll weigh 455lbs by the time he's 10 :).
- We've been super adventurous--gone to IKEA twice. We're still taking a lot of precautions and not yet exposing him to crowded environments, but this was a great test run in terms of seeing how he'd behave in his car seat and stroller. Looking forward to beginning to introduce him to friends next week!

  1. I just love keeping up with Calum and seeing
how he changes from day to day. He is a doll.
Love to all. Evelyn and Henry
