About a month ago Calum discovered his feet in a fun way, and when he's bored now he pulls off his socks and plays.
He's also sitting without much support at all -- though, just when I'm least expecting it he'll take a nose dive trying to crawl or snap back because he's looking at a bird outside. We have this little nest built in front of the TV (the TV isn't on) that's got a couple layers of comforter padding and pillows all around. It's his play-zone and we love it. He also spends mornings in the corner of the couch methodically pulling toy after toy out of his turquoise toy box. This last week he seems to once again have found his love for the toys that squeak and whirl. The week before it was his plush little buddies.
GB is getting his top two front teeth (the bottom two front teeth are in). He's always gnawing on his fingers, mama's rubber spatulas, or his socks. But, other than that and a bit of drool, it fortunately hasn't been affecting his sleeping. He continues to sleep mostly through the night -- with a squeak here and there that we don't attend to. And, we'll continue to night feed him until he's on a consistent solids plan.
Food: I am so thrilled things are just now starting to come together with him and solids. Since we've been trying -- and we've been trying -- he has not taken to much of anything. There have been lots of tears and even some vomit as mama has attempted to feed him cereals, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, avocado, apples, pears, mango and a whole host of other things like teething biscuits and little O's. FINALLY, he's really started to take a liking to yogurt and prunes! Woohoo! Thanks especially goes to Vilma, our nanny, for helping us work through this and expose him to new foods each week.
Vilma is a life saver. I've been working on an intense project -- which will only get more busy before it becomes easier -- for the past six weeks. I've hired two people to help me with this and it's going well so far. Vilma has been coming to the house three days a week, but since my workload warrants more of her time she is going to start coming 4-5 days/week. Wish me luck in keeping up this pace and getting more work as the year progresses.
Vilma + GB:
Vilma looks like a real nice person to look after Calum. Soon Calum is going to have to start bicycling(spinning) to keep those legs in shape!
